Why a bollard beats every other car security
Alarms, trackers and steering locks all help. Only a bollard physically stops the car leaving your drive.
| Security bollard | Steering lock | Tracker | Car alarm | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Physically stops the car leaving | ||||
| Beats keyless relay theft | ||||
| Visible from the street | ||||
| No battery, app or subscription | ||||
| Nothing to fit inside the car |
Trackers help recover a car after it's gone. A bollard stops it going in the first place. Many owners use both.
Built to take a hit

Questions people ask us
Can't see yours? Ask when we call you back with your price.
Get my instant priceWhat's the difference between telescopic and retractable?
Nothing. Both names describe a post that lifts up to lock and lowers into a sleeve in the ground when you want to drive over it.
How much does a driveway bollard cost?
Fitted prices start from £349 for a fold-down post, £629 for a galvanised telescopic bollard and £1,295 for a lift-assist. Each extra post on the same job is £50 less. Use the instant price tool for your drive, then we fix it in writing from a photo.
Which type should I choose?
For most homes, a telescopic post gives the best balance of security, price and ease of use. Choose lift-assist if bending and lifting is a struggle. Stainless is worth it if looks matter or you want the lowest upkeep.
Will it work on my driveway surface?
Yes. We fit into block paving, tarmac, resin, concrete and most other hard surfaces. Gravel drives need a small concrete pad, which we'll price from your photo.
Do I need planning permission?
Not usually for a bollard on your own private driveway. Listed buildings, conservation areas and shared access can be different, and we'll flag it when we price your job.
Will it lower my insurance?
It can. Some insurers offer a discount for approved security posts, but it varies by insurer and policy. We give you the product details so you can ask yours.
How long does fitting take?
About two hours for a single post. Two or three posts is usually done in a morning.
What if I lose the key?
Every bollard comes with two keys, and we can supply replacements or change the lock.
How do I pay?
By card or bank transfer. We take a 50% deposit when you book your fitting date, and the balance once the job is done and you are happy with it.
Can I change my mind?
Yes. You have 14 days from agreeing your quote to cancel for any reason and get your money back. If you would like us to fit sooner than that, we ask you to confirm it in writing, and you would only pay for work already done.
Do you fit bollards for businesses?
Yes. We fit car park posts and parking bay protection for commercial sites. Call us to arrange a survey.
